Elijah Ho is the new classical music writer for the Bay Area News Group (San Jose Mercury News). He is a regular contributor to San Francisco's NPR/PBS affiliate, KQED, and the San Francisco Examiner, and has conducted over 100 interviews with musicians ranging from Yo-Yo Ma, John Adams, Charles Dutoit, Leon Fleisher, to Ara Guzelimian and Richard Rodzinski.
Before moving to San Francisco in 2011, Ho studied Music at l’Université de Montréal where he majored in piano performance. Born in Montreal, he began formal studies at the instrument at the age of 21 after learning he had absolute pitch. His teachers were Ronald Turini, Jimmy Brière, and the gold medalist of the 1980 International Chopin Competition, Dang Thai Son. Ho also has a degree in English Literature.
